In 1957 chartered surveyor Albert F. Quirk opened his first independent estate agency in London.
At the time, the large corporate estate agency companies had a huge stranglehold on the sector and were pretty complacent over their approach to customer service and innovation.
But Albert went about things rather differently and began to offer people access to years of invaluable experience and exceptional customer service at a fairer fee. His business, Quirk & Partners, prospered and grew to be a large branch network.
On the surface things were quite different back then. Smoke filled offices, polaroid cameras and busy offices full of potential buyers as opposed to the property portals, digital mailing lists and tech platforms of nowadays.
In 2010 Albert’s grandson, Russell Quirk, sold the high street property business and launched emoov.co.uk.
The Quirk family business may have innovated onwards now but their ethics still remain an obsessive part of eMoov’s philosophy, to offer invaluable experience together with great customer value and service.
