Reasons to love Camden
Estate Agents in Camden
Looking for your local Camden Estate Agent? Emoov can sell your property.
Located in north London, Camden has undergone an impressive resurgence in recent years and is well-connected by London’s bus and Tube networks. Taking its lead from neighbouring well-to-do areas such as Primrose Hill, Camden has gone from an edgy inner London borough to a vibrant, attractive draw for people living in the capital.
Culture in Camden
Camden’s reputation as a haven for alternative culture in the capital has certainly changed over the years but it still retains much of its charm. Camden market and lock, once associated with the roots of punk rock rebellion in the 1970s and latterly associated with underground clothing labels and cheap street food might have undergone a facelift in the last few years but it still remains a popular hangout for Londoners and curious tourists alike. A few streets down and you’re surrounded by great bars and restaurants with live music. Popular gig venues such as the Underworld, Barfly and Koko (formerly Camden Palais) are a big draw for music fans. The former home of the late Amy Winehouse really does have it all.
Things to do in Camden
If the busy, fast-paced Camden High Street isn’t your cup of herbal tea then you could try the more genteel climes of Regent’s Park, with its flower gardens and open air theatre, Camden is truly eclectic in its appeal. ZSL London Zoo houses an array of wildlife and is a great day out for the family. With such a range of things to do, it would be impossible to be bored in this exciting north London borough.
Student Life in Camden
Camden’s eclectic mix of bars and night-life is a big draw for students who are looking to let their hair down in between studying. On top of this, its close proximity to many of the University of London’s central colleges is a big advantage – Camden Town is approximately 20 minutes away from the University of London’s Senate House library, a must for any students in the capital.
Buying in Camden
The London Borough of Camden is one of London's more expensive boroughs. This is unsurprising given its great commuter links and the draw of its wide open spaces. Camden’s eclectic nature is mirrored in the different properties on offer in the area from Victorian and Georgian houses and flats to a range of new developments springing up all over the place.
