Reasons to love Epping Forest
Estate Agents in Epping and Woodford Green area
Woodford Green is a neighbourhood belonging to the North London suburb of Woodford, in the London Borough of Redbridge.
Culture
Only the busy North Circular road separates Woodford Green and South Woodford, but the areas do vary quite considerably. Woodford Green, as suggested in its name, has a more rural vibe than South Woodford, containing smaller, more independent shops, giving the area a villagey feel. Woodford Green also has the beautiful Epping Forest on its doorstep, and at 6,000 acres, it’s the largest area of open space in the capital.
Things to do
Redbridge Lake is a wonderful place to visit for the whole family, as here you can go fishing, taste some scrumptious cakes or simply enjoy the stunning scenery. Creative Biscuits Ceramics Café is also a favourite with locals and visitors alike, and is situated in neighbouring South Woodford. Here you can let your creative spirit run wild, customising a range of pottery from mugs to plates.
Student life
Although there aren’t any major universities Woodford Green's doorstep, when you live in an area so intimately connected with Central London, it means many universities are easily commutable. Woodford Station is a 10 minute walk from the town centre, and from there, inner London locations can be accessed in 30 minutes, meaning no London-based university is out of reach. With rental prices here being cheaper than some inner London locations, it’s certainly worth the commute.
Buying property in the area
Take one look at Woodford Green and it screams rural bliss with a twist. The neighbourhood attracts young families in particular, as the area is recognised as a safe neighbourhood with a range of excellent schools and endless pretty, Victorian terraced properties to choose from. The M11, M25 and North Circular roads are nearby, as is Central London by tube, only 40 minutes away.
