Culture in Stockton-on-Tees

Preston Park Museum and Grounds offers acres of stunning parkland. It's a joy to behold, particularly for kids. Preston Hall is home to a large collection of artefacts which help to highlight the rich heritage of the town.

For a cultural fix, look no further than The Arc Theatre and Arts Centre, a wonderful little venue for live music, comedy, drama, films and pantos. A very intimate, up close and personal auditorium, the audience and the performers being so close definitely gives this venue that added something.

Things to do in Stockton-on-Tees

There is plenty to keep the children entertained, none more so than Wild Animal Adventures, where the little ones will be kept amused for hours by a wide range of exotic animals. Equally, Butterfly World, Wynyard Woodland Park and Ropner Park are fantastic places for days out.

Splash, Thornaby Pool and the Crazy Corner Adventure Pay Centre are excellent for younger children, while the Billingham Forum – a multi-use leisure and activity centre – is brilliant for people of all ages. If you're a keen foodie, Stockton has plenty to offer. Caruso – traditional Italian food, great service and lovely ambience – is the pick of the bunch, but Vadah (Indian), Peking Garden (Chinese) and The Talbot (British cuisine) are equally good alternatives.

Student Life in Stockton-on-Tees

Durham University's Queen's Campus is located in a modern and spectacular waterfront setting in Stockton-on-Tees. Teesside University is close by as well. The town’s considerable student population are well catered for in terms of night-life, eateries, shopping opportunities and leisure activities, not to mention all the lovely green space nearby.

Buying in Stockton-on-Tees

The town's excellent transport links, riverside location and close proximity to Middlesbrough all help to make it a very desirable location among commuters. In keeping with much of the North East, prices in Stockton are very affordable. Given all it has going for it, that seems like too much of a great bargain to pass up. Many others will be thinking along those lines – particularly first-time buyers and buy-to-let investors – so it's best to act decisively to avoid disappointment.
