Tomorrow the usual ‘this is the priciest road in Britain’ result is published. Last year Zoopla, the property website, said it was Kensington Palace Gardens, London W8 with an average property value of £18.2 million.

(We can’t resist the opportunity to point out that a Kensington estate agent will want a Caviar spluttering £291,200 in selling fees for his efforts in uploading the photos to Rightmove. And Prime Location if you’re lucky).

But what about the other end of the scale? What about the cheapest street in the UK?

Fernhill in Mountain Ash, Wales has the lowest priced houses on average. You could buy 636 properties there for every one in Kensington Palace Gardens. At £28,600 surely the bricks cost more than that??
