Renting a residential property in the UK is currently 9.7% more expensive than owning one, says Zoopla, the property website.
The statistic relates to evaluating asking prices and rents of available properties around the country and assumes a mortgage rate of 5%.
Milton Keynes is the top spot for rentals being the keast attractive proposition with rents being 43% HIGHER than home ownership repayments.
In contrast Poole, Dorset is a much more attractive rental prospect being 27% cheaper than servicing a mortgage.
But EIGHT out of TEN of the FIFTY largest towns and cities in the UK offer cheaper home ownership than being a tenant.
