A council is aiming to sell a block of public toilets for flats in a bid to raise £150,000.
Isle of Wight District Council has put the 3000 square foot building up for sale, complete with two parking spaces. They have applied for planning permission for six two-bedroom flats.
And there are four other sites of public convenience that are set for disposal there too.
I suppose one shouldn’t poo-poo the idea in the current difficult economic climate.
Talking of which, Isle of Wight Council could have saved almost £10,000 using an online estate agents like eMoov to market the lavs in question. Money that they have otherwise just flushed away it seems.
