This month will see 350 million hours spent shopping online by UK internet users. That’s 8 hours and 45 minutes per person.
There will be 2.1 billion visits to online retail sites and with record peaks both before and after Christmas.
Lego, somewhat surprisingly as a ‘traditional’ toy, will be the most searched for.
Cyber Monday is the busiest internet shopping day of the year with 85 million visits to retail websites.
The 19th December, a Monday, will be the busiest online grocery shopping day.
iPhones will be 33% more popular than iPads.
25 million hours will be spent on Facebook just on Christmas Day.
Christmas Eve may see the busiest traffic for post-Christmas sales searches.
Friday 23rd December will be the biggest email day of the month with newsletters, special offers and so on flying around in cyber space.
Fashion sites like Top Shop, River Island and the ‘like’ will be the most dependent upon Facebook user traffic for their sales.
The Dr Who Christmas Special will be the most popular programme on the BBCiPlayer and 12 million hours will be spent watching video clips over the festive period.
And the internet shopping capital of the UK? Is HULL, where proportionally more of the population will shop via the internet.
