Connells is the latest estate agency firm to announce its profits.
With ‘bricks and mortar’ branches across the UK, the Skipton Building Society owned chain has posted pre-tax income of £19m for the first six months of 2012. This figure is up by a healthy £4m on the same period in 2011, a 27% increase.
The group acquired the West Midlands estate agency business, Burchell Edwards late last year, further contributing to its coffers.
According to consumer website WHICH?, Connells’ selling fees can be as high as 2.5% of sale price. That’s over £5000.00 (incl vat) on the average UK house.
