eMoove

Our readers will be pleased to know that eMoov won PrimeLocation’s Best Agent Blog beating Knight Frank and Wetherell in the process. With 59 percent of the vote, we won with a bigger margin than anyone else in any of the other categories. This victory is the result of my blood, sweat and tears – and it feels great to beat the traditional agents.

I launched the blog at the same time we launched the business – four years ago. In that short time, we have posted more than 700 articles – sometimes four or five in a week. Our topics have been quite varied; we try to write something for everyone. Some on the property market and some are on problems associated with estate agents. A lot of the articles are light hearted, but I’ve always tried to provide people with information that’s insightful and thought provoking. Part of its uniqueness, I think, is that I’ve been a traditional estate agent – and it’s rare for an estate agent to talk so openly about the industry – exposing the ‘tricks of the trade’ and advising sellers of potential pitfalls.

For me, the blog is the story of our growth as a company from just an idea to being the largest online estate agency in the country. The great thing about it is that it dispels the argument that online agents aren’t proper estate agents and don’t have a depth of knowledge and advice. Any of our readers will see that we know what we’re talking about. I’ve worked in estate agency since 1984; I know the industry inside out and where I think it’s heading. Time will tell how much of an imprint we can make, but the sector is growing every day with more and more properties sold through online estate agents as people catch on to what we’re doing.

Before I wrap up, I would like to thank everyone that voted for us to win this award – much appreciated. I may even start my own poll to ask people what they would like us to write about.

The PrimeLocation Awards has six categories including Best Blog, Best Post, Best Agent, Best Eco, Best Interiors, and Best Newcomer. You can view the full results here.
