Air BnB’s rise to the top has been a quick one and people all over the world have been cashing in by renting out their spare space to weary travellers, trying to cut costs on hotels.
Homeowners in Wimbledon were able to cash in big time, as the world’s biggest tennis major attracted more spectators than there were rooms to accommodate them.
As the UK prepares to host another major sporting tournament in the Rugby World Cup next week, homeowners around each of the host stadiums will no doubt be looking to do the same.
However perhaps two unlikely candidates opening up their homes to the public are England’s Lewis Moody and now former Welsh rugby star, Gareth Thomas.
Thomas has put his three bedroom home in the sought after Vale of Glamorgan up to rent for £150 per night. The property in the picturesque village of St Brides Major is just a short walk to the seaside and less than an hour from the Welsh capital.
Although England fans are more likely to opt for Moody’s residence over Gareth’s, the former Welsh international has stipulated no England rugby shirts allowed and the Welsh national anthem must be sung with gusto at all times. He also added no bad reviews are to be left of his book, although we’re sure he can manage that on his own merit, maybe.
