For many football fans, a property just a stone’s throw from their chosen teams home ground would be the dream. Well for Arsenal fans the possibility of actually residing in the Gooner’s stadium could be a reality, almost. Unfortunately there aren’t any residential opportunities in the actual Emirates, but Zoopla do have a two bedroom luxury apartment for sale in Arsenal’s former home, Highbury.
Now renamed Highbury Stadium Square, the apartment is on the market for just shy of a million, a tad more expensive than a season ticket but who can put a price on such a piece of sporting history?
The apartment in Arsenal’s former home of 93 years includes two double bedrooms, a luxury bathroom and en suite, an adequately sized reception room and modern open plan kitchen.
At about 69 meters squared, it isn’t the largest property, but that’s what a million will get you throughout the majority of the capital these days. That measurement also includes the balcony, but it does have great views down into what was once the pitch, but is now a well maintained communal garden.
It also benefits from good transport links, just a short walk from Arsenal underground on the Piccadilly Line.
Snapping up this property could be a far sounder investment than actually supporting the Gunner’s. In the last five years house prices in the N5 postcode have increased by over £200,000, whereas Arsenal have only managed two FA Cups and a handful of top four finishes.
