Leading fixed fee estate agent, Emoov.co.uk and its founder and CEO Russel Quirk, are now one step closer to pitching the company to none other than Richard Branson for this year’s Virgin Media Business #VOOM.
After going head to head in a vote off consisting of thousands of hopeful applicants, Emoov are now through to the next stage of the Virgin Media Business #VOOM competition for 2016. Voting closed on Monday (23rd May) of which Emoov finished in a very respectable position of 19th out of 160 qualifiers.
This means that Emoov are now through to the exciting next stage of the ‘Pitchathon’. The ‘Pitchathon’ is 29 hours, live-streamed, attempted Guinness World Record. Each shortlisted business will only have three hours to work their magic to make the top 40, but if they make the cut they will then be taken through to the next round.
On 13th and 14th of June, the 40 applicants will then work with experts and the Virgin Media Business #VOOM Professionals to get to know the businesses even better, in the form of competitive face-to-face workshops. From there, three finalists from each category will go through to the final!
All finalists will have to pitch their ideas to Richard Branson, a live audience and to thousands of others who will be watching the live streamed event online. Scary stuff!
So watch this space, as Necker Island could be Emoov’s next listing!
Founder and CEO of Emoov.co.uk, Russell Quirk, commented:
“Delighted to have made the cut for the Pitchathon, although I expected we might. Looking forward to being part of the World Record attempt and I have a strong team behind me, so I reckon we have a good chance of making it through to the next round. I know Richard bought Necker Island for a steal, so would be great to visit now and give him a free valuation. I doubt he’s short of cash at the moment but if he does think of selling up, I’d be happy to tell him how much we could save him in fees.”
Peter Kelly, Managing Director of Virgin Media Business commented:
“I’m looking forward to hearing 160 innovative and inspiring ideas over the course of the 29-hour record attempt, although I am not underestimating the challenge. Like any true entrepreneur – we never do things by halves at Virgin Media Business and achieving this record will add another level of ambition to the ‘VOOM 2016’ competition.”
