This weekend Arsenal will take on Premier League champions Chelsea in a London derby for the FA Cup. Arsenal has a chance to create history as the team to lift the FA Cup trophy the most time, whilst Chelsea will be looking to do the double and cap off a great season in style.
Ahead of the game, we thought we would take a look at how the two compare in terms of property price growth and who has performed best for homeowners in their respective boroughs over the last 15 years.
So we looked at the average house price in Islington and Hammersmith and Fulham when the two teams last met in the 2002 final when Arsenal won 2-0. We then looked at who grew fastest up until the next time Chelsea lifted the cup in 2012 and from then until Arsenal’s last win in 2015. Finally, we looked at price growth between then and last year’s FA Cup final and up until the present day.
We also looked at how the average house price in the London Borough of Brent has changed since the final was first played at the New Wembley Stadium in 2007 and now.
