The profile of the modern first time buyer has evolved over the last decade – they are now older, likelier to buy with a partner and have dependent children, according to a report released by the Department for Communities and Local Government. Although the numbers of first time buyers has stayed relatively the same over the past ten years, the numbers are down from the last twenty years.
