Finding a New Property

Finding a new property in this day and age really couldn’t be simpler. With the digital revolution changing the face of the estate agency sector, potential buyers can browse a plethora of properties from the comfort of their own home.

The increasing popularity of online estate agents has resulted in traditional agents also listing their stock via online portals in an attempt to remain competitive. The high street agent’s window has now become a redundant channel through which to buy property, as home owners are realising the minimal exposure it offers their property.

Rightmove and Zoopla are the two largest online property portals in the UK and there is no better way to find a new home as almost all properties will be listen on one of these two sites, most of the time both of them.

They provide you with instant information on what properties are available in the area and allow you to search by preference of distance, number of bedrooms and by price caps. They provide a description of the property, photos and a floor plan of the buildings layout. They also detail the local area and what amenities are nearby as well as school information and even what council tax band the property falls under.

You can research previous sold prices, crime rates and even arrange mortgages through either of the sites. Using these portals can drastically reduce the time it takes you to find a suitable property as you tell it the criteria you are searching for and it only presents you with properties that meet said criteria.

The best thing about these portals is that they add new stock on a daily basis, unlike traditional agents whose portfolio can be limited to your requirements and remain so for weeks on end.
