Our locals are the Talbot and the Orchard, both lovely. One of the best Turkish restaurants we've tried (ever) is Meze Mangal, 10 minutes walk away. There are also the Gantry (French), Masala Wala (Pakistani), L'Oculto (Spanish tapas) and others. On Saturdays, Brockley Market takes over a car park, nearby, and serves a great fare of food and produce.
At the end of the road is the beautiful Hilly Fields park with a great café, Pistachio's in the Park. Great for a summer's picnic or just a walk or jog.
We're leaving Brockley after many years of living here, and it's sad to go (we're moving up north). There is a sense of community here, people are friendly and the area just gets better and better. The flat itself has been an amazing home for many years. We hope whoever takes over enjoys it as much as we have.
